Turnover Uniondale Concert reviews
Shinedown gave it their heart and soul!!
I found it hard to make out what was happening on stage and had to watch the big screen to see anything. Their rigorous schedule must put a strain on them. I hope they make another appearance in Iowa at a better location. Barry is unbelievable on the drums. I loved Brent's interaction with the crowd. Turnover came out with sunglasses on but proceeded to remove them and leave them off, and then really worked to involve the crowd. This was my first concert at the Grandstand and would not be inclined to go there for any future concerts. They put on a good performance. It didn't feel as much like a live performance when I had to watch a TV screen. I would see them again. I was told to go back to my seat when I moved to an empty area next to me so that I might see better. I haven't been to a concert in quite a few years and found that security was too strict. Overkill. Such as not getting to take a picture from any location other than my assigned seat which was on the outer edge and sparsely populated. I found it put a damper on really enjoying the concert as I just kept breaking minor infractions. I would have enjoyed it much better if it had been at the Iowa Jam or similar venue. This venue was not well suited for getting up close and personal, only the floor seating had that advantage. The Grandstand is not suited for that type of entertainment. It definitely detracted from being able to enjoy myself and see the band as well as I had hoped. I found that security was too strict. I was told to go back to my seat when I moved to an empty area next to me so that I might see better. They gave Des Moiines, IA their heart. I found it hard to make out what was happening on stage and had to watch the big screen to see anything. I hope they make another appearance in Iowa at a better location. He has very expressive eyes and uses them effectively to relay meaning while singing or addressing the audience. This is the kind of band that needs a more personal atmosphere. It was tough though because the grandstand lent itself to a detached and impersonal air that made it hard to keep the motivation going in the crowd other than those right up front.
